Bristol will not bid again for 2006.
Malaysia announce their intention to bid for 2006.
Novmeber 2002
Croatia will bid again for 2005. One
other potential bidder has requested information on past bids.
June-2001
There are a number of colleges interested in hosting in
2004-2005. I have supplied information to all of these in order to help
them in their decision making process.
Janurary-2001
The mystery bidder can now be revealed as Stellenbosch and
Council awards them the right to host the 2003 championships. There are no
confirmed bids for 2004. Jamacia deny any interest in hosting soon.
Galway look like 2005 at the earliest.
November-2000
There will be a bid for 2003. A past host wishes to
hold the championships again but wishes to remain confidential until closer to
the council meeting
October-2000
Galway (Ireland) express interest in hosting in 2004/2005 but
not 2003
October-2000
Stanford, Rhodes and JAmacia have all pulled out of the race
to host 2003 Worlds. Council is not aware of any other potential bidders
but makes the decision to publically offer help to anyone interested.
Janurary-2000
Totonto have been awarded the 2002 World
Debating Championships. No Other bids were presented to the Council.
Stanford (USA) Rhodes (South Africa) and
Jamacia all express an intrest in hosting the 2003 worlds bids will be presented
to Worlds council at Glasgow on 1st Janurary 2001.
